Senior Minister, STEVE FERGUSON

Steve arrived at SHCC December 1, 2010.  He was born and raised in southern Ohio.  He graduated from Kentucky Christian University 1983.  He spent over 20 yrs working with abused, neglected and abandoned children at Christian Children’s Home of Ohio.  Most of that time he served as the Director of Advancement.  Steve and his beautiful wife Joan have two children, Corina (CJ) and Ryan.  Steve has a passion for preaching, teaching, and evangelism.  He enjoys golf, biking, and motorcycles.  Most importantly, Steve loves people!

Deaf Minister: JAMES WINES

James Wines has served Southport Heights Christian Church in Deaf Ministry since 1994. James started as a part-time minister at SHCC. He becomes a full time minister in 2003. James graduated from Indiana School for the Deaf in 1971. James and Deborah were married in 1974. They both are deaf. They have 3 children, two sons (Jeremy and Jonathan) and a daughter (Polly). He graduated from Cincinnati Bible College, CBC (now Cincinnati Christian University) CCU with his Bachelor of Science degree, he was ordained to ministry in 2003. He likes to golf, read, and work on his house.

Children’s Minister: TANYA HENTHORN

Tanya Henthorn has served at Southport Heights Christian Church since October of 2007. She is a 2002 Family Life/Pre-Counseling graduate of Lincoln Christian College and has served in several churches in Illinois as well as a church in Ohio. Tanya has a great passion for reaching the lost and shepherding children. In May of 2007 the Lord blessed Tanya and her husband Keith their son’s Joey and Shaun. She enjoys scrapbooking and spending time with her family.



Worship Minister: ERIC RADECKI

Eric is from the metro St. Louis area, where he grew up making music at the piano, in orchestras and bands, and in his home church. Eric received his education at Lincoln Christian University, a B.A. in Music Ministry and a B.A. in Youth Ministry. He earned his M.A. in Worship Studies from the Seminary at Lincoln Christian University, and is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies.

Eric sees worship gatherings as formative – Worship reflects what we believe and shapes how we live. As a Worship Pastor, he has been privileged to serve congregations and lead worship ministries in Illinois, Florida, Missouri, and Indiana. Eric enjoys writing worship songs, and has taught many piano students over the years. He and his wife, Becky, have three sons (Parker, Keaton, and Camden), all pursuing vocational Kingdom service. Eric likes pineapple on his pizza, plain soda water, and movies with aliens or zombies.
